Fruit Subscription
For the 2023/24 season we are offering a pick-your-own CSA membership. See our CSA subscription page for more info on how to sign up.
Our previous CSA boxes will not be available this year. Instead, we’ll be offering a variety of boxes each week depending on what’s available. You’ll be able to order them via the Open Food Network and pick them up at the Farm Shop or one of our markets. Sign up for our newsletter to find out what’s on offer each week.
Pick your own
In the 2023/24 season, pick-your-own fruit (PYO) is available in two ways:
- You can become a PYO-CSA member.
- You can pick your own fruit on a casual basis.
The farm is also open at the following times:
- Wednesday, 10 am – 4 pm – PYO-CSA MEMBERS ONLY
- Thursday, 10 am – 4 pm – PYO-CSA MEMBERS ONLY
- Friday, 10 am – 4 pm: PYO-CSA Members & general public
- Sunday, 10 am – 4 pm: PYO-CSA Members & general public
How PYO works:
- Come to the farm at 69 Danns Road, Harcourt.
- There is a Harcourt Organic Farming Co-op property sign at our entrance, then a long driveway to the farm carpark.
- The speed limit on the driveway is 25 km/hr. Please drive slowly and enjoy the view of the cows and kangaroos.
- Park in the carpark at the big green shed.
- Please don’t park on the concrete apron (as we need access to the shed to bring fruit in and out) or in front of the blue shed (this is Sellar Dairy and Tess needs to be able to access her shed).
- Come to the Farm Shop and we’ll show you where to pick!
- Please also note the following points about biosecurity:
- Please don’t bring your dog to the farm (not even on a lead).
- If you have visited other farms (particularly other farms with livestock), please be sure to clean your shoes thoroughly or, better yet, wear different shoes to protect Tess’s dairy herd from Foot and Mouth Disease.
- Please do not bring uncut fruit or vegetables onto the property if there’s a risk they may be infected with Queensland Fruit Fly.
See How to Get Here under ‘Farm Shop’.
Farm Shop
The farm shop will be open to the general public each Friday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm for both PYO and a range of pre-picked fruit.
Please note: cherries will not be available for PYO this year (due to limited availability) but will be available for sale in our farm shop and at our markets.
How to get here
We are at 69 Danns Rd, Harcourt. There is a Harcourt Organic Farming Co-op property sign at our entrance, then a long driveway to the farm carpark. Please observe the speed limit on the driveway of 25km/hr so you don’t create dust or bother the cows.
You will come to a big green shed with a ‘Harcourt Organic Farming Co-op’ sign. Please park in the car park here, and do not drive beyond this car park. The blue shed is Tess’s dairy – please do not knock on the door or park in front of the blue buildings. Make sure you leave plenty of space so she can drive her vehicle into her shed. Please also don’t park where your car is blocking the sliding shed door.
Make your way along the woodchip path and through the garden to the Farm Shop in the north-west corner of the big green shed.
Markets
- Wesley Hill Market, 149 Pyrenees Highway, Castlemaine, every Saturday 9 am – 12 pm
- Castlemaine Farmers Market Weekly, Camp Reserve, Forest Street (near the Railway Station), every Wednesday 2.30 pm – 5.00 pm
- Castlemaine Farmers Market Monthly, Western Reserve, Forest Street, first Sunday of the month, 9 am – 1 pm
- Harcourt Applefest Market, James Park, 7 High St, Harcourt, Saturday 9 March 2024, 9 am – 3 pm
Fruit Boxes and Specials
Each week we’ll have a range of fruit boxes you can pre-order on the Open Food Network to pick up at the farm shop or a market.
In times of an abundant excess of fruit, this may include specials and bulk deals.
Make sure you’re signed up for our newsletter to give you time to get your order in.
